My son has many piercings. What he uses is alcohol. I would think that boiling water would clean and sterilize them, but alcohol is easier. You should also store them in a container or plastic zip lock bag. This will keep them germ free. Before you put the jewelry in, you should also clean the area, whether it is a labree’ piercing or whatever, with alcohol. This will help to prevent germs from getting into the site, in case it isn’t completely healed.

If your piercing is a prince albert, DEFINATELY DO NOT CLEAN THE AREA WITH ALCOHOL!!! (unless you like running 100mph!) You can also clean the area with peroxide to get rid of any germs. :)

You’re very welcome, Scott! BTW, your other answer that I read opened my eyes. I’m going to let my 16 year old get her piercing. She’s wanted it for a while, and I wouldn’t let her do it…I told her she would have to wait till she was 18, but I’ve changed my mind. You’re a gem! ;)
