Nose piercing bump – how did YOU get rid of it?

Satan’s Angel аѕkеԁ:

Hey

I already know whаt kinds οf things I аm supposed tο ԁο tο take care οf thе bump under mу piercing, Ɩіkе tea tree oil аnԁ salt water soaks, bυt mу qυеѕtіοn іѕ whаt worked fοr YOU? I wουƖԁ Ɩіkе tο know thе fastest аnԁ mοѕt effective way tο gеt rid οf thе bump.

Another thing, іѕ іt trυе thаt уου ѕhουƖԁ change thе jewellery before trying tο “cure” thе bump?

Thanks fοr уουr input.

I soaked a Q-tip in hydrogen peroxide and applied that to the bump inside and out. Good Luck!

The first time I had one I went to the health services at my university and they told me to take the piercing out and gave me antibiotics. The problem is that nose pierces close up really quickly – mine was closed less than a day later, so I had to go get it redone.

What I would do was every night I would wash around the stud carefully and put a band aid with Neosporin on it over my nose and left it on as I slept.

Then after a few months I decided I wanted a different stud in, so I changed it, and then I never got the bump again, even without the Neosporin. Turns out what was happening was the original stud I had was too close to the skin. I recommend trying to change the stud to one with a longer straight piece between the stud and the loop if you’re using the spiral kind of stud.

My cartilage piercings ALWAYS form a bump. Since noses are also made of cartilage, my nostril piercings tried to follow the trend.

I finally got them to calm down by leaving them utterly alone aside from sea salt soaks once a day. They had been pierced with implant grade jewelry so I didn’t need to change them and they had plenty of room to be healthy. It was a few weeks after being pierced and they seemed to be healing well aside from the bump, so I stopped washing them other than in the shower. My stubborn refusal to do anything to them but soak them in salt water finally sorted them out.

My skin has a passion for destroying scars, so once I removed all possible irritants (including trying to “help” them) the bumps were destined to disappear.
