how does a 12 gauge tragus piercing look like without the the jewellery?

Strange, I’d keep the jewelry in it.

Like a small hole. It’s going to be somewhat noticeable if you have short hair. If the piercing is angry or unhealthy it will show up more.

It looks very, very awkward. I agree, keep the jewelry in it unless your hair can cover it.
