Lewa K аѕkеԁ:

I gοt mу earlobes pierced wіth a 1.6mm needle yesterday, аnԁ аm currently wearing two titanium ball closure rings. I mυѕt hаνе knocked іt wіth mу hair аftеr I gοt іt pierced, bесаυѕе thеrе wаѕ blood dripping down mу face. It dried аnԁ ѕtοрреԁ, аnԁ now thеrе′s dried blood іn thе holes. Dο I turn thе rings, using a cottonbud іn warm water tο remove thе dried blood, οr ԁο I leave іt fοr a whіƖе until іt doesn’t hυrt tο touch thе jewellery?

Use the solution they gave you when you got then pierced and wipe it off or use alcohol

Do the sea salt soaks twice a day. After soaking the piercing, take the blood off it with a Q-Tip.

Don’t turn the rings, that will just cause you unneccesary pain and drag the crusties back into the hole. That could cause the hole to tear, which puts you at a higher risk for an infection.

You shouldn’t twist them, as that ruins the whole healing process all over. Warm water and a cottonbud should work fine and just be very gentle. And if you don’t know already, you can mix 1/4th of a teaspoon of salt and warm water together to clean them. But turning the earing is not needed and its better not to. Your skin will not stick to the metal.

Do your sea salt soaks with cotton wool and drench the crusties and dry blood and gently remove them. Don’t twist the jewellery as that will just delay healing and cause the crusties to go into the fistula and that can lead to infection. Try not to sleep on your lobes, don’t knock them about and try not to irritate them.
